Alma Family Services Since its inception ALMA has a "whatever it takes" tradition of multilingual, culturally competent services to meet client's needs in their homes and residential facilities, schools, social and vocational programs, juvenile facilities, and other settings as appropriate. Their mission is to promote the quality of life of families & individuals with special needs including emotional, physical and/or developmental delays. Alzheimer’s Association The Alzheimer’s Association California Southland Chapter, in their effort to assist people with Alzheimer’s and their families and to educate the public about Alzheimer’s disease, offers a variety of diverse programs and services. Support groups provide a safe place where people go to listen, share and gain emotional support from others who are also on a unique journey of providing care to a person with dementia. Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services, Inc. Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services, Inc. (Plaza) is dedicated toward improving the quality of life for residents in the Los Angeles County area. Its basic mission is to provide an exemplary program of comprehensive services to children and their families. Plaza develops partnerships and alliances with private industry and government institutions to better serve the public. USC Edward R. Roybal Institute for Applied Gerontology The Edward R. Roybal Institute for Applied Gerontology at the University of Southern California’s (the “Roybal Institute”) purpose is to conduct interdisciplinary research on gerontology and other academic disciplines with faculty from different schools at USC with the goal of creating practical programs that benefit the community in a number of ways, including improving the quality and effectiveness of health and human service delivery to older persons through training and education. www.usc.edu/dept/gero/roybal |

VELA - Volunteers of East Los Angeles
VELA was founded more than twenty years ago by a community volunteer. VELA is the only organization in the unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County that operates a farmers market located in East Los Angeles. Salesian Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles Salesian Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles provides programs and services to members and their families in five core areas: Character & Leadership Development; Education & Career Development; Health & Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. NCLR - National Council of La Raza The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) – the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States – works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans. Through its network of nearly 300 affiliated community-based organizations (CBOs), NCLR reaches millions of Hispanics each year in 41 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. To achieve its mission, NCLR conducts applied research, policy analysis, and advocacy, providing a Latino perspective in five key areas – assets/investments, civil rights/immigration, education, employment and economic status, and health.
