Project HEAL Advocates those who will become the change agents, leaders and voices of their communities will be part of an Advocate Leadership Council to conduct one monthly meeting and outreach for constituents; create a database of constituents, and interface with healthcare and environmental policymakers. They will receive training on communications, computers, coalition building, media relations and conferencing, as well as on research and advocacy techniques, data collection and analysis. Advocates will conduct surveys and focus groups, in person and via website, to seek opinions and concerns on healthcare and environmental issues.

Constituents can use the computers at the above mentioned sites in order to access surveys and information. Computers have Internet connectivity. Residents without computers or internet access are encouraged to visit these clinics to participate in project surveys and communications. This will be the link to residents input on healthcare issues and environmental policy.
Advocates will also learn to tabulate opinion and survey results using their website database with the assistance of AltaMed staff. This report will be widely distributed to elected and appointed officials, community-based organizations, and posted on the website for community wide distribution.
